Power Posing

Being assertive is not purely about what you say and how you say it. As Albert Mehrabian famously expressed in his model of communication, as much as 55% of communication comes from body language. It is therefore an essential element in assertiveness. In this video Amy Cuddy demonstrates how our body stance affects our thoughts, feelings and behaviours. She encourages us not to fake it til we make it…rather, fake it til we become it.

It's important to note that the research on the topic of power posing is mixed as it involves a lot of variables and further studies are needed to fully understand its effectiveness. However, many people have found it to help improve their confidence and performance.
