With energy and positivity, Barb is committed to maximising potential in individuals, teams and organisations. She is persistent in her drive to create meaningful dialogue for others, to support deep personal growth. Barb is an experienced facilitator who tirelessly strives to customise processes to meet the needs of clients.

Barb has designed and facilitated senior leadership programs, lead major cultural change initiatives, worked with senior executive teams and designed whole-of-organisation OD initiatives. Her change strategies embed systematic coaching options. She is known for her energetic, pragmatic approach and believes learning should be fun!

Specialities

Barb has 25 years of relevant experience as a consultant and academic delivering programs in leadership, facilitating high-performance teams, executive coaching, organisational behaviour, unconscious bias and organisational strategy. She has a persistent interest to create facilitation techniques directly aligned to the needs of clients.

Barb was responsible for the implementation and management of the Master of Business Administration (MBA) Program at The University of Western Australia Business School for ten years.  She has taught at the UWA Business School for more than 15 years and personally designed the MBA Leading and Facilitating Teams and Leadership Coaching units. Barb was three times nominated for Australian National Teaching Awards.  

Qualifications

Barb earned degrees from the University of Alberta (Masters in Sport Administration) and Queen’s University (Bachelor in Economics and Bachelor in Physical and Health Education) and is a senior consultant and executive coach with Integral Development.

Barb is accredited in: Myers Briggs Type Inventory, Hogan Assessment Systems, Lifestyles Inventory (Human Synergistics), The Leadership Circle, Collective Leadership Circle, Emotional Intelligence – EQi 3.0, Team Synergy Scale, the Leadership Maturity Framework and Lumina Learning Products. Barab is also a MHFA Accredited First Aider.

She is an accredited user of Open Space Technology and Creative Conflict Methodologies.

Barb has also completed advanced training in: i) Executive Coaching (Tony Grant); ii) Engaging Emergence (Peggy Homan); iii) Narrative Coaching (David Drake); iv) Appreciative Inquiry (Sallie Lee); v) the UWA Growing a Business Case Program; and vi) the UWA Advanced Leadership Program for Women.

Industry experience

Barb has been involved in wide-ranging clients over the last twenty-five years focusing on leadership development, executive coaching, high-performance teams, organisational strategy, unconscious bias and change management. Attentive to maximising the performance of individuals, teams and organisations, Barb often uses diagnostic instruments to support meaningful dialogue for clients. She has embedded 360-degree tools in coaching sessions with more than one thousand individuals. As a facilitator at heart, Barb works with clients to develop new perspectives on skills, knowledge competencies and levels of consciousness, necessary to enhance their performance.

Passions

Barb is particularly interested in the link between enhancing physical fitness and maximising potential at work. Barb engages in a variety of sports – ice hockey, grass hockey, squash, running, cycling and golf. She cherishes the balance between a healthy lifestyle and a healthy mind.
